Shouts of Joy – Psalm 126

Don’t you just love King David! His songs are real and gives us insight into this amazing man of God that he went through ups and downs himself – perhaps even depression!

Ps. 126 opens with, “…we thought we were dreaming,” after it had been so lomg since God’s people lived in peace when it did finally arrive they like had to pinch themselves!

Are you waiting right now for the Lord to do something? Like David (v5) you’ve sown seeds and cried everyday as you have faithfully witnessed to loved ones, praying for a prodigal to come to their senses or friend who is lost in darkness?

Take heart and comfort a harvest is coming! Shout for joy! Sowing is not done in vain and the harvest reaped will be plentiful (v6)!

That is certainly the prayer and cry of David’s heart to look with eyes of faith and trust His God! To look up from dispair and instead to see hope that what seeds are planted in His name will not return to him empty!

Whatever you are waiting for today, don’t dispair or be downcast but instead with eyes of faith proclaim with shouts of Joy that God will redeem that to what you longing for! I believe we can use this prayer today as a prophetic one to speak into the despair and with eyes of faith proclaim His joy! Go shout it!
